As its name, this tour will give you a spot of the Malagasy real life in the countryside, far from internet, far from the big city and its traffic jam, and even the use of your telephone is very limited; natural life and wildlife are the key words of this tour, as you will have the opportunity to visit the least visited national park of Zahamena – perfect for wildlife observation and a true natural laboratory for the beauty of the natural forest and rich biodiversity, a precious and invaluable Wealth to the future generation. Last but not least you will have the three national parks (Andasibe, Anjozorobe and Zahamena) – natural home to the famous Indri Indri, the biggest species lemur of Madagascar

Day 1: Sunday: Arrival in Antananarivo

Welcoming, formalities and transfer to your hotel; overnight stay at Medicis Hotel on BB

Day 2: Monday: Drive from Antananarivo to Anjozorobe

After breakfast, drive to the north east of the capital and passing several interesting places like Talatavolonondry, really known about the koba, a kind of Malagasy cake made of rice flour, sugar and groundnut; if interested, take this opportunity to taste and enjoy it. Arrival in Anjozorobe (the end of the National 3), continue directly the way to Saha Forest Camp, your hotel for lunch; in the afternoon drive back to Antsahabe, visit this traditional village: Malagasy traditional house, meeting, talking with villagers and discover or understand their daily life style; if not tired, possibility of a nocturnal visit of the park; overnight stay at Saha forest.
N.B: Please do not forget to order your picnic lunch for tomorrow before going to sleep.

Day 3: Tuesday: Drive to Amparatanjona

After an early breakfast, visit to perform the circuit Lights and Shadows (diurnal and nocturnal) of the reserve: this is the second place (after Andasibe) where one can find Indri indri; it provides also habitat for many animals and plant endemic species of Madagascar: 9 species of lemurs, including the famous Indri indri, 74 species of birds, 26 species of mammals, 38 species of amphibians, 36 species of reptiles, 75 species of orchids; the local guide will do his maximum to show you as much as possible of these species in your limited time; in the afternoon you drive back to Anjozorobe, leave the asphalted road and take a dusty road of about 50km to drive to Amparatanjona (literally means The end of the cap or The final goal); along the way you will discover the inner Malagasy life, far from the big city and its rhythm, far from internet and informatics, and where every thing goes calmly and smoothly in a very natural way; picnic lunch; after climbing the mountain for few hours, you finally arrive in Amparatanjona, really famous for the scenery and the vast rice fields that makes a memorable feature in your thinking; and we would like to give you a spot of an other scene on the fact that during the rainy season (January-March), these rice fields look like a very big lake because of the flood; a diner by candlelight will give you the opportunity to taste a Malagasy dish cooked with wood; and after this delightful time, possibility of a fire camp with local children who will be very happy to dance and sing with you; overnight stay at local people home (home stay).

Day 4: Wednesday: Amparatanjona – Ambatondrazaka

Breakfast in the early morning; today you have two options: either you go to the rice fields to attend and observe how Malagasy people harvest crops in a natural way and with zebu, without any harvest machine (possible during the harvest time May and June) OR you visit the village, the school, the local market and the air of reforestation managed by Mada Nearby ReforestaCtion: yesterday from Anjozorobe to Amparatanjona while seeing the landscape, you surely noticed the importance of the need of reforestation in this region, and today we will show you that local people are interested in building a green area around them and you will see how hard this work is; on the top of the mountain (a good physical condition is required) you can have a very nice view of a wonderful countryside’s landscape: villages, rice fields, river, … – please do not forget your camera; back to the village and drive to Ambatondrazaka; picnic lunch along the dusty road; overnight stay at Chez Max & Irène (or other according to availability)

Day 5: Wednesday: Ambatondrazaka – Andreba – Vohitsoa

After an early breakfast, whole day dedicated to the visit of Alaotra lake and surroundings, mainly the Bandro Park near the village of Andreba and pirogue ride on the lake, Bandro or Hapalemur Alaotrensis is endemic to the lake and a very endangered species; after visit departure to Vohitsoa, a village very famous for wickerwork and visit of the workshop of these craftswomen; overnight stay at the guest house of Mrs Fara. (Or other according to availability)

Day 6: Thursday: Vohitsoa – Zahamena

After an early breakfast, whole day dedicated to the visit of Zahamena national park. An area of 64 000ha, Zahamena rain forest is home to several endemic species of wildlife including the Aye Aye, the Giant millipedes, the Indri Indri, the Black & White Ruffed Lemurs; it is also the promised destination for birdwatchers with over 76 endemic bird species; this is the least visited national park in Madagascar, and where you will see the real wildlife of the Island; the local guide will do his maximum to show you as much as possible of these species in your limited time; camping inside the park.

Day 7: Friday: visit of the Zahamena national park

After an early breakfast, whole day dedicated to the visit of this national park; camping inside the park.

Day 8: Saturday: Zahamena – Ambatondrazaka – Andasibe

After breakfast, departure to Andasibe; overnight stay at Grace Lodge

Day 9: Sunday: Visit of Andasibe national park

After breakfast, whole day dedicated to the visit of the national park of Analamazaotra; overnight stay at Grace Lodge

Day 10: Monday: Andasibe – Tanà

After breakfast, drive to Tanà, with visit of the Peyreras reserve along the way; the reserve is famous for chameleon breeding and other endemic species; it will give you the chance to see lemurs up close, many species of chameleons and insects endemic to the region; continuation to the capital; overnight stay at Medicis Hotel.

Day 11: Tuesday: Tanà – End of the tour

After breakfast, transfer to the airport and flight back home.
